To the coast by water

Harbours, moorings and passenger shipping

If you want to travel here in your own or a chartered sailing or motor yacht you will find numerous harbours and moorings around the Bodden waters. All of them are set in unique scenery, providing varying levels of comfort.

For smaller boats a tour of river Recknitz is recommended, too. It also has rest stops and camping sites for canoe tourists. On the Baltic Sea side there is just the harbour at Darsser Ort in the national park "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft". This harbour may only be entered in emergencies, but stays of just one night are tolerated even without emergencies.
An overview of harbours and moorings may be found here..

Several passenger ships travel between the villages and towns on the Bodden waters or invite guests for sightseeing trips. From Zingst or Barth you may go on day trips to Hiddensee.

In autumn, when thousands of cranes rest in the region, crane watching trips are offered in the evenings.
