Tips for outings
For more diversion during your stay we can only give you a few hints here.
Hanseatic cities of Stralsund and Rostock

Charcoal burning yard at Wiethagen
If you have always wanted to know how charcoal, tar and wood gas were made traditionally you should visit the Köhlerhof Wiethagen (near Rövershagen between Rostock and Ribnitz). Internet: www.koehlerhof-wiethagen.de
Island of Rügen
Even if our peninsula is the most beautiful place you may wish to visit Germany's largest island. Apart from the main tourist attractions chalk cliffs, Granitz hunting lodge, Kap Arkona, flint fields, Baltic Sea resort Binz etc., the peninsula Mönchgut with its diverse scenery on just a few kilometres is especially recommended.

Going to the theatre
Apart from the Vorpommern theatres in Stralsund and the Volksbühne in Rostock, Barth also has a theatre, the Bodden-Bühne. This venue of the Vorpommersche Landesbühne Anklam was created in the year 2000 after the first Vineta festival in 1999 turned out to be a big success and now takes place every summer in the harbour of Barth. The programme and further information is available at the following addresses.
