Manor houses

Go on a journey into the past of Mecklenburg and Western Pomerania. In many villages, towns and cities there are still manor houses and stately homes.

"Cask" celebrations

"Cask" celebrations are the occasions in the region.

The task is to bring down a herring cask with a cudgel while riding by on horseback. This sometimes takes hours, prolonging the fun for everybody. The person who beats down the last splinter of wood is proclaimed "king of the cask".
